Its hard to buy a pair of shoes without knowing your shoe size, designing and selecting the right equipment for your HVAC system is the exact same. By looking at the materials that are being used, the types of windows and doors, and other factors we’ll calculate not only the size of your equipment but exactly what each room needs for heating and cooling. By using our cutting-edge methods we’ll ensure that the build has sufficient, and even, heating and cooling throughout the year. Our method takes all the guess work out of the structures needs, turning the heating and cooling system into a comfort system that will never cross your clients mind. The F-280 calculations are the foundation that the entire design hinges on, we pride ourselves in providing precise calculations taking the guess work out of your duct design. Starting the design is simple, we’ll send you a list of the documents and info we need, all of which is typically listed on the drawings, or material lists for the build. Once we’ve confirmed we have all the documents we need you can sit back and relax knowing that we’ll be getting you a state-of-the-art design that will save you time and money in costly touch-ups after key hand over.
Times are changing and we’re building more efficient and air tight homes. Although this has cut down on operating costs by containing the home climate, it’s also containing all the odours and contaminants that, in the past, would have naturally drafted out creating smells, odours, and health concerns. Ventilation has become more than just a code requirement, it’s a comfort and health requirement, Collaborative HVAC Design uses CSA established methods to calculate how much ventilation your build requires while minimizing additional heating/cooling costs both during construction and operation. We strive to be a breath of fresh air to an industry that has a substantial impact on people’s lives and health. Our design process is thorough and is applicable to both new and existing builds. Contact us to start the process and we’ll send you a checklist of documents that we need, once we have confirmed we’ve received everything we need you can breathe deeply knowing that your fresh design will provide a healthy and efficient method of ventilating all the contaminants out of your build. In the event that we have a few options we’ll contact you and discuss the options and provide our recommendations.
Knowing how much heating/cooling each room needs is only half the battle; you need a ducting system that will allocate the right amount of climatized air to each room in your build. Our designs take the most efficient and direct route to minimize interferences and provide a well balanced system that will minimize costs while still maintaining a comfortable design. Depending the transmittal package that you select we’ll provide you with either a single-line or double-line print outlining the ducting layout as well as the duct sizes, fixture locations, and max allowable line lengths so the contractor installing the system knows how much play they have in the design. The design starts with the review of the F-280 heat loss/gain calculations, the drawings, including the structural, plumbing, electrical and cabinet layouts, the type of equipment that is to be installed, and the ventilation design. Once we’ve confirmed that we have all the required documentation we’ll start our design, selecting the required equipment and laying out a cost effective ducting plan that will satisfy all the heating and ventilation requirements.
What better time to fix your houses poorly designed HVAC comfort system than when you’re doing renovations. Working with our design team we’ll start off by listening to what your concerns are, especially what areas of the house experience the dreaded hot and cold spots. Once we’ve gained an understanding of what it is you want to accomplish, we’ll review your current system and start identifying areas of concern. Once we’ve had a look, we can provide you with options and our professional recommendation on the best path forward. From there we’ll perform the necessary calculations and design to provide you with a design that will leave you forgetting that you ever had problems with your heating and cooling system
